Guilty

Shall I feel guilty for feeling sad?
…for I have read a book,
Shall I feel guilty for being mad?
…for I have watched a crook,

Shall I feel guilty for being happy?
…for I have sisters and brothers still alive?
Shall I feel guilty for being me?
…for I breathe unlike those that couldn’t survive,

Shall I feel guilty for being Muslim?
…for I follow the current Prophet (scw)
Shall I feel guilty for protecting a religion?
…for I will be punished to ever regret,

Shall I feel guilty for giving the poor?
…for I have been in the same predicament,
Shall I feel guilty for giving less then more?
…for I am rewarded to give and to repent,

I shall always feel guilty for I am not innocent,
…for I have what the poor never had,

I shall always feel guilty for the worthless spent,
…for I am blessed to have bread and mattress pad,

I am guilty for trashing foods, for I am full,
I am guilty for bashing moods, for I am dull,
I am guilty until proven innocent …for I am null
